Brotherhood Spotlight

Chris Sauer

I was in pledge class Beta Lambda in Spring 2007 with three other Brothers, Bishop, Apollo, and Phoenix.   Since graduating UT in 2009 I spent four years working as a Network Engineer for Cuyahoga County in downtown Cleveland, OH.

In the fall of 2013 Maggie got her first job out of grad school and we moved down to Cleveland Mississippi which is where we’ve been living for the past 3.5 years. Having never lived outside of a sizable city I didn’t know what to expect living in Mississippi would be like but it’s certainly been an experience so far.  I’ve gotten to enjoy authentic southern cooking, seeing the first Grammy museum outside of LA open in town 5 minutes from my house, being able to drive down the road to the birthplace of the Blues, and working in Clarksdale where Morgan Freeman has his restaurant.

We also had the fun undertaking of trying to plan a our wedding in Ohio last year while being 900 miles away!  I’m currently working in a hospital as a System Analyst and have been fully sucked into the never-closing world of working in Healthcare which takes up a lot of my time.  Outside of work most of my time is spent hanging out with our two German Shepherds trying to come up with new ways to keep them busy or you can find me up at the bowling alley in one of our leagues.  This year I’ve taken a step down off of the Triangle Housing board which I’ve been on since it’s inception with our chapter.

Josh Belknap

I pledged the Toledo Chapter of Triangle in my Junior Year. I was part of pledge class Beta Zeta in Fall 2004 with Michael Sciarappa, Matthew Schiering and Darrel George. As an active member in the chapter I was Social Chair, House Manager, President, and Recruitment Chair. I graduated in 2006 with a BS in Construction Engineering Technology and got my first engineering job with Brother Tom Worline.

As an Alumni, I served on the Board as a Member at Large and Vice President for several years. In 2009 I returned to UT for a MS in Civil Engineering. I worked for the jdi group from 2011-2015. In October of 2015 I moved to Georgia to work for the Department of Transportation in the Office of Bridges and Structures to design bridges. I am helping with the Colony at Georgia Tech get to Chapter Status.

Hobbies: 3D Printing, video games, off-roading in my jeep, wood crafts, and paper craft.

Mike Henteges

Pledged: Fall, 1986
Activated: Winter 1987
Graduated: Winter 1992
Big Brother: Chris Miller
Little Brother: Berry Bodenbender
Nicknames: First was Bundy (as in King Kong Bundy WWF), it then became Buddha, in 1990.

Chapter President During “The Toledo Renaissance” years (1987-1988 – I was preceded by Brother Chris Miller, and followed by Brother Matt Czyzewski) Exceptional brothers expanded the chapter rolls more than 300% in less than 2 years.

I am currently living in Cincinnati, Ohio and work as Regional Field Project Manager for Lasership, Delivery, managing 5 project managers. My active years at the University of Toledo Chapter of Triangle were some of the best of my life. Lifelong friends were made, leadership skills gained, and the end result was me, becoming a better man, for it.

Tyler Ray

My name is Tyler “Windu” Ray, and I pledged in the Fall of 2014. I’m from Mentor, Ohio and graduated from Mentor High School in 2013. My major is Bioengineering, with a focus on Biomechanics in order to someday hopefully work in the prosthetic field. I co-oped at US Endoscopy in Mentor, Ohio for all of 2016, which provided a ton of great work experience and I enjoyed my whole year off of school quite a lot.

I originally started rush week with Triangle for something to do to add to my resume, but by the end of rush week and especially by the end of my pledging semester, I got hooked by everything the fraternity has to offer and I’ve stayed hooked and as active as possible since. My pledging semester even taught me the mistake of not making three major life changes (well, major for a college sophomore) at once without really thinking about how to juggle the changes (I pledged, started working a 15 hour a week job and lived off of campus for the first time all at once). I managed to make it through the semester, but that was probably the busiest I could ever imagine myself being and still staying sane. I’ve held multiple positions with Triangle (Secretary, Treasurer and I’m currently our Vice President), enjoying and learning more about Triangle and life skills with each position.

Lately, my hobbies have included playing video games (mostly playing The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild), watching Bob’s Burgers, taking my dog on walks, taking pictures of random things with my new camera and spending time with my girlfriend while doing all of those things. Triangle, school and my hobbies have kept me busy enough that I don’t have any major life events to report (yet!), I’m just working on making graduating my next one!

Brian Bee

I am Brian Bee and I am a past Alumni Board President. A position which I held from 1997 – 2014, where I then served 2 years as the newly formed position of Housing Board President. I first pledged Triangle in 1989 as a beginning Freshman. Along the way, I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with many Triangle Brothers.

I have been employed with the same company, Bay Controls in Maumee since graduation where I am approaching 21 years of employment. Working for a small company has offered me the ability to work outside of my degree, while learning and influencing the company direction. But it also gives me the flexibility to coach.

I am the father of three daughters with my wife Amy (which many of you also know) who all play fast pitch softball which is where I can be found almost year-round. I currently am the Head Coach of three teams (league and travel). I also assist with the High School and other travel teams as well. I like to think that my big Brother (Cary Kingsley) knew what he was doing when he gave me the knick-name of Coach. The picture I submitted was even from Myrtle Beach where my oldest was playing in a Spring Break tournament with her high school.

Enjoy your active time with Triangle, and when I say ‘Active’ time, I do not mean just as an undergraduate. I mean the time you spend working and learning alongside your fellow brothers before life pulls you away. Whether that is as an undergraduate in school, or post-graduation working on one of the Alumni boards. If the only time you have is to come back for a single event, then your brothers would like to have you. Sorry had to throw that in, some old habits never die.

I would not trade my experience with Triangle for anything. It has been and continues to be one of the best things in my life.
